I am from India and I can buy and possess swords here. However, I cant import blades longer than 10 inches without an import license. This license is a lot of headache and bribe money to be worth trying.

Recently I came to know that CS sources a lot of its swords from India. I was looking to see if anyone knows who their supplier is? I wrote to CS but its been a week and no reply so I guess they dont wanna share. However, some people know where they get stuff from like they used to do from Camillus in the past.

Any info is welcome!

It's thought by some (total hearsay) that Windlass Steelcrafts makes them, but to a much higher standard than their typical work. I personally don't believe that as I haven't ONCE seen a Windlass piece with the degree of fit/finish, geometry, or heat treatment that the CS pieces do. I DO believe that they're of Indian origin, however.

On a related note, I'm not sure why they haven't made a katar yet...they love push daggers so...

I have never seen proof that Cold Steel sources their swords from India. Heard it, but never saw any proof.

well all i can tell you is the japanese blades are made in the same facility as dynasty forge. however cs charges more and receives the lower quality blades. i.e a batch of blades is made, dynasty gets the best from the batch cold steel gets the worst.

I barely every see katars!

And I'm not sure. You might be able to find the supplier through some searches but if CS isn't sharing, it would probably more trouble than the sword is worth.
