Does anyone know if the Cold Steel 80TFT True Flight Thrower is any good? I wanted to buy just 1 throwing knife to practice with and I found this one for relatively cheap. Any comments on the strength and durability of this knife would be much appreciated.

the weight and balance are reported to be good but it was a bit too brittle..

I've been throwing TFT for coupla years and no complaints so far. Actually, it's my favorite production thrower.

its best not to have just one knife to throw, you'll get tired of having to retrieve the knife after each throw.

I bought one a few years ago., and finally managed to take it out and throw it around a bit last summer... I got a couple of good throws in, and then it simply broke clean in two, when it landed on the ground. Right where the paracord goes into the handle (hole at the top of the handle, actually).

I guess this must be the weak point to the knife. It seemed WAY too brittle.. but the knife itself seems VERY very solid... so maybe this was just a defect.

Either way, I sent it back to Cold Steel, and have since gotten a new one. I can't wait to try this one out. I do think it's a great production thrower.. though, i'm not crazy about the utility blade.
But I like the steel (well.. I will like it, if it doesn't break).

They have claims that it should last hundreds of thousands of throws, and that it's VERY durable... so I don't see the problem, and I will trust it not to break again, unless I start throwing it at some big rocks or something...

even if it does.. it's cheap, and likely better than most other options out there... so in my opinion, it's worth the price.
