I always looking for some modern stiletto switchblade and CS seems to pull this one off nicely judge from the pics, spec and price.

But I'm never been a fan of Cold Steel's commercial and would like to make sure if the the newer product is not something bullshit like their marketing video.

Anyone has experience on these model to share? Thanks

I might get the tilite. I like cold steel better then benchmade and spyderco. I been carrying a medium tanto voyager a few months now.

I have one. It's overall a well made knife, but mainly for novelty purposes (or self defense, if you so choose). The blade is thick and narrow, and the edge bevels on mine are around 30* per side, so it's not a great slicer or general edc blade. It does fly out with a flick of the thumb stud or with a flick of the wrist (inertia) and locks up tight, though the liner goes almost to the other side upon lock up, which I guess could become an issue eventually if you used it enough, but I'm not sure. I think it's done this way to put as much of the L shaped (instead of flat) liner lock on the tang as possible. I just pull mine out every so often, flip it open a few times, giggle like a schoolgirl, then put it away. :D:thumbsup:

I have three of them, Zytel (ultra light, quick, smooth opening via thumbstud or waved)

and an aluminum one, 4 years old, gone to hell and back many times. Broke the scales, dulled and chipped the edge,

sand, sea, dirt, soil, rocks, wood, plastic, rubber and cardboard couldn't beat the lock on this big boy. Has been hammered (used as a chisel) and thrown. No blade play, secure lock up still

still cuts and can be easily sharpened, it's an excellent ice pick and monster folder (both in looks, and in size).
All are really sharp and pointy, open easily and lock like a tank vault. The aluminum one could be used as a powerful bludgeon, or the quillions of any of them as a non-lethal implement.

The grind is thick and short so they are not great slicers, but the sturdy needle like blade will pierce through most things with ease and undamaged. The AUS8 steel is very forgiving and easy to touch up or re-shape

If you're in the market for a stiletto that wont run afoul of any laws and is about 100 times more durable, then get one. I have one and its lives in my pocket.

It also has the added benefit of 2 levels of less lethal force when closed. The butt end acts as a bruising pummeling device, while the other end can be a lacerating bone breaker.

Cold steel seems to not have the best reputation but I have found that all of their knives are very well made for what they are... they do a good job with HT but I haven't got any of their folders just a bunch of fixed blades.. 4 or 5 and like 6 throwing knives.. all have been outstanding and even better is the price

Are the newer ones coming out with that triad lock thing on their current batch of big folders? Or are they still liner lock.

I have a Zytel 4" and while I find it aesthetically very pleasing, I've never actually found it very useful compared to other knives that cut better.

As far as I know they haven't changed the design of the knife since its inception.

No need for the Triad lock on the Ti Lite, the liner lock works great and suits the fast opening of this knife better. I think the Tri ad locks need a wider knife to fit it in anyway.

I use it as one of my favorite bases for knife mods

This (aluminum handle; good alloy and heat treated for strength by the way)

Into this (full flat ground and 1.9mm thick with reprofiled and thinned edge)

This (aluminum handle)

into a razel that I use often at work like a chisel and deburing tool on metal parts
very robust and well made knife with a two fisted handle. I love these things.

Here’s a third one (Zytel handle so I could tell them apart when closed) I modded, into the shorter blade. I EDC them as work knives all the time. One of my favorite handle shapes.
