I got a Tilite a while back but the scales were synthetic. I like the titanium version but it's pricier than I want to pay. Now I am seeing several with aluminum scales. Anyone seen these? Is the steel from Japan?

The current line up features two different Ti-Lite series.
One has a Zy-Ex handle, the other has a 7075 Aluminum handle. They both feature Japanese AUS8A steel blades
The Titanium models are long discontinued, but I believe they too featured Japanese 8A blades
We did make some older models with 440A blades but that was a long time ago

The aluminum Ti-Lites are awesome and very solid feeling. They are made in Taiwan, but as CS says, the AUS-8 steel is from Japan.
