I purchased one of these items, because I was impressed with the Cold Steel DVD. I was truly unhappy with this item. The double point on the Torpedo resulted in very difficult handling. A brick would be cheaper and probably much more effective. Any comments?

I got to handle one while on a martial arts class outdoor seminar on throwing boshuriken (spikes). An army guy had one and I couldn't throw it properly if my life depended on it; very awkward. I don't know how Lynn seems to throw them so well in the DVD. You're right about the brick comment-I'd rather go with one of those

I actually purchased one about 4 years ago and had alot of fun with it on the jobsite...

At lunch we would setup a scrap piece of 3/4" Plywood on a dirtmound outside draw some bullseyes on it and go to town..

its about as tactical and gracefull as a bulldozer but rather fun if you take it for what its worth, a 2 pound primitive double ended spike...:)

P.S. that thing thrown with some force goes through 3/4" ply like it was rice paper!

My son bought one and he and i used to throw it at stumps and trees when we would go camping. It takes a bit of getting used to. A lot harder to learn than throwing a knife or tomahawk/hatchet. But when you get good with it, its very fun and a very powerfull tool.
