This is my firs hawk. I started looking at them a long time ago just never bothered to get one. Years past and my wife and I watched that naked and afraid episode with one and all my past research and want came back.
Cue the CSTH. (Guess I will have to upload from PC TT isn't working or is disabled)

I had it shipped to my office and my first impression was-too long a handle, poor shaped handle, paint seriously has to go and tbh was surprised head was so small. Was thinking it would be a tad larger. Overall happy and looking forward to modding it.

Night 1
Retention screw removed and disassembled.

Day 2
I stripped the head and learned that the striper I bought eats through nitrile gloves. Lol.

Hawk is all striped and ready for filing.

I am looking to get this hawk done for my hunting trip in 4 weeks.

Final thought, while not dull it is no where near "sharp". That will be corrected very soon.

Night 2:
I got a fair amount done to it tonight. I was able to do some filing and grinding on both pieces. The head itself was mostly removing burs and some very basic shaping. Rounded the various edges to make it a bit more comfortable in my hand without the handle.

The handle was sanded and shaped along with some carving. Just a couple basic rings thus far.

Tomorrow I hope to modify the head some more and possible do some additional filing. The handle will be drilled and perhaps some cordage will be applied (still debating that). Over all it is coming together pretty well.

Could a admin move this to the Tomahawk section please? For some reason when I started this on my phone that area was not shown to me. I thought it was a bit odd. Thank you.
