I know CS gets a bad rap, and they deserve most of it. Those are one of their best.

probably not the first time this question is asked to you, but anyway...
1) Which one is the sharpest?
2) which one do you prefer?

nice collection and thanks for sharing !

Agreed. My biggest disappointments have come with various CS knives, but I have had very good experience with the the Trail Master, it's little brother the Recon Scout and the Master Hunter (all in "Carbon V" steel).

Nice collection and good photos!

Freddy
The sharpest is without comparision the Carbon V the hair pops from my arm when I shave hair - it is also the cheapest:D
I prefer the Carbon V due to the fact that it is a little lighter then the other tree. Balance it perfect and it feels like an extension of the arm. It is also real easy to re-sharpen. It holds the edge pretty good to.
I have used the knife for many tasks like eating BBQ :D camp work and killing wild boars. Taken into account that you can get and old school Carbon V satin finish for around $100 on the used marked (ebay) I think that it is the best $100 knife a man can own.

Cheers,

André

hi andré,
nice to heard that the old carbon steel still has some supporter !

I have several forders with blade in VG-10, 154CM, ATS-34, ZDP-189 etc...and they hardly cut as well as my 10 years old doukdouk (same kindda blade than carbon opinel !)

I like the TrailMasters I dont own one yet but its on "the list". I really like that one you have there with the fuller it looks pretty sweet.

A great thing about Trail Masters is that even used ones sell good on ebay :D
Buy one from ebay in unused and mint condition beat it up and re-sell it if you don't like it. You will end up loosing about $20 or so.:D
The kreaton grip is the best grip IMO.

Cheers,

André

Yea, the Trailmaster is a good value.

Bought mine in the 80's and it's been a keeper after all these years. Most impressive.

That's a great collection.

Nice collection. Shows the trailmaster in a new light..

I had a Recon scout for a while and thought it was pretty good, one of my mates has one now and uses it all the time..

The old satin recon scout is the rarest and they seldom come up for grabs.
They are made from a Trail Master stock that is shortened.

Cheers,

André
