Cold Steel Trail Master Stag

The cable tang is the design feature that has kept me from buying any number of Nachez and Laredo bowies from CS.

I had an earlier San Mai Trailmaster I wish I would have held onto. I did not care too much for the rubber handle on it, after a while. Would have kept it if it were stag, or elk, or micarta, or stacked leather.

A San Mai Trailmaster should be nice to have....
I only have this one.... My first CS blade bought in Japan, I think 1988....
Carbon V....

We seem to think the same.... A cable tang do not belong to a knife....

Best,
Stefan

Not sure about the Natchez, but the San Mai version of the Laredo has the cable replaced with a solid rod.

That was very good news, John.... Thank you! I really have to look for that one.... Do you know if it is made in Japan?

Yes, all of the previous San Mai III offerings were made in Japan. The current VG-10 San Mai offerings are made in Taiwan, but don't believe they are offering the Laredo in that (yet).

No Trailmaster either right, thought they would by now.
