Is the c/s trailmaster a better chopper than the sp10 raider bowie? I know the c/s has a thicker spine but it is flat ground and the raider has a saber grind allowing it a full quarter inch thickness over a broader portion of the blade whereas the c/s is 5/16" at the spine only. The sp10 is also a heavier knife than the trailmaster so shouldnt it outchop it? Just looking for some opinions as i have several large knives but do not have the c/s and unless it is worth the price tag i wont proceed in buying it.

If you're interested in chopping, I'd recommend a Cold Steel HTC, LTC, or Gurka kukhri. Don't chop with the Light kukhri or kukhri-style machetes.

The Trailmaster is an excellent knife, but it's not indestructable. It'll chop better than most other production knives (with the exception of the Busse Battle Mistress). The Ontario knives I've handled have such a lousy factory edge that they required extensive re-sharpening -- in one case, an Ontario I personally owned was unable to take an edge, and required having an entirely new edge ground. If you're interested in a smaller fixed blade that can chop, check out the Warthog or the Tracker.
