Are all Carbon V Trail Masters marked Carbon V on the blade???

I bought a used Trail Master that the owner told me was Carbon V--but it is not marked with that.

It has Trail Master on the left side and Cold Steel USA on the right

Blade is black-sheath is leather

Is this a Carbon V model??? or SK-5

Thanks

I just got this from Cold Steel Customer service

Hi,
Yes you have a CARBON V TrailMaster. SK5 Steel Trailmasters are made in China.
Only the Carbon V was made in the USA. The Carbon V markings may have rubbed
off since this was a used item.

It seems like a Japanese alloy carbon steel comparable to the 1080 series. A decent steel for a large knife. Dont quote me on it, I might be wrong.

Kim Lau is correct .

Hi for once i can put a bit of "positive" feedback to this forum. I have had 2 trailmaster bowies it seems the older one stated "carbon V" on the blade but the more modern did not, however the seller who had a good reputation did clarify it to be caron V. This knife had the black crinkle coating.
Hope this helps a bit.
Paul.
PS The older one which i have rehandled with a large block of black micarta, the blade was bright steel.
