Cold Steel Trailmaster Question

have you considered a behind the neck or shoulder carry. in the right rig it's quick & wo'nt inhibit your forward movements.
 
I think what you are looking for is called a "Baldric" carry or "rig". Do some searching and see if that yields results. Good luck.
