Has anyone used a knife featuring this lock?

How does the action and manipulation compare to a regular lockback? Does the lockbar have any play due to the extra space for the rocker hole?

Has anyone done any sort of strength testing of this lock?

I own several cold steel products and have not seen this one yet. Their other knives are rock solid by me, but as you have read here there are many opinions on their stuff.

Hmm, looks like a lockback version of the compression lock.

What I'm saying is:

lockback : tri-ad :: linerlock : compression lock

I don't know anything about its performance, though.

Yes American Lawman. Nice knife solid lockup. more handle then blade, with really tacky blade coating. I like it. No coating, jimping the choil, would have made it better. Got it in trade.

Lockbar does not have play. You have to depress it fully,to bottom of notch, to unlock the blade. It does get harder to depress if you have really but a load on the spine of the blade.

No not yet. Minor spine whacks etc, nothing very serious

Looks good, in theory. I'd love to see a head to head of this lock and something like a Manix.
