Cold Steel Triple action?

the triple action is a fun knife but besides that not much else, both blade designs available, (tanto/double edge spearpoint) lack any EDC cutting ability. the mechanism of the knife is pretty fun though but to put any questions to rest IT IS NOT A BALISONG the best way to describe the design is as a protected handle folder, meaning that one part of the handle keeps the blade insite of the main handle while its both in the closed position and the open. if you really want to get this knife i suggest going elsewhere to the original design the tri-folder by fred perrin

you will be much happier with this smaller much less expensive knife than the 150 dollar sharpened toy that is the cold steel triple action

I'm not a big fan of the company but I'm not a Cold Steel basher either. They have plenty of knives that provide a good to very good value for the dollar. The Triple Action folder is NOT one of them. It's a low quality knife, especially at its price point.

I second ColonelX on the Perrin tri-folder. I like playing with mine, but be aware that it can be seen as a "gravity knife" that can get you in legal trouble pretty much anywhere.

I never handled the Cold Steel. They look neat but I have heard the aluminum handle won't hold up to much use before it weakens around the pivot and induces bad blade play.

Yeah, not looking to it for EDC, more for novelty value. I am suprised there is not a nicer version made by a knifemaker.
