I bought two of the Cold Steel Urban Pal knives for my wife and I. It is about the only thing I could convince her to carry on her keychain for self defense should she need it. I'd like to know if you could put an edge on the back side of the blade on one of these knives to make it more like a safe keeper, and an estimate of costs.
Thanks

Yep. My wife carries something like that one also. We have made a habit of buying those and the Mini Pals, and Super Edge as well as several other of the smaller key ring knives offered from both Cold Steel and Spyderco over the years. We give them out as gifts on Christmas and other such occasions. Usually around the holidays Cold Steel runs a pretty good special when we buy a bunch.

Anyway, I'm sure I can put an edge on it on the other side but being so small it might be a challenge to try to hold to grind it so it may not be as pretty as I'd hope and it might not be possible to make it too pretty depending on the grind of the one you have. My wife gave me her Mini Pal after reading your post just to check it over and its a flat grind so to flat grind the other edge would make it very thin which is probably not good. I can probably manage something though using the belts and some ice water to like chisel grind just one side on the spine. Just mail it to me and I'll do it. I doubt being that small it will take all that long. My min. shop fee is $30 and I doubt it will even be half of that to be honest. Just pay shipping for now and we'll worry about any refreshment donations you want to contribute later. :D

Email me and I'll give you my contact info. Lgtfutatcableone.net (of course replace 'at' with the @ sign before mailing.

Thanks for asking.
