Okay, I know the "Cold Steel" Vietnam Tomahawk isnt made by cold steel, only sold under their name. That being said, does anyone know how it holds up? I've had multiple customers ask me about them and I havent gotten the time to go out and use them. I have three for testing purposes but I'm wondering what to expect.

Any info on throwing, durability, etc...? If I get no respone I'll post my findings for anyone interested.

Also, any info on other Vietnam Tomahawk models? I've seen adds for all steel designs, these look good...

The One That Holds Up The Best Is The American Tomahawk Co. Origional Lagana Vietnam Tomahawk .

The Vtac By American Tomahawk Co. And The Cold Steel Vietnam Tomahawk Are Two Differant Pieces.

The difference between the Cold Steel version and the ATC version is like night and day.

I've got the ATC wooden handle version which what the Cold Steel Version is attempting to be. The ATC version is actually modelled after and had Peter Laganas input - it feels lively and distinctively deadly. I haven't thrown it but the wedge and the step lock in the eye is as good as its going to get for a wooden handle hawk.

The Cold Steel version is an acceptable replica - it throws fine till I had a bad throw and the head loosened. I eventually sold it. You'll also have to majorly reprofile the edge whereas the ATC is sharp and forged the way Peter Lagana wanted.

Of course the prices are also like night and day - you also can't get the ATC wooden version now... but if you want ultimate durability in that style of hawk, then the ATC Lagana Tactial is the only way to go. I personally found the Lagana Tactical to not be as lively in the hand, but unquestionably more durable (for exteme purposes) albeit slightly smaller.

I just picked up the Vtac from Botach.com for $89.00 + s/h. I am relatively new to the Hawk throwing. I am used to my two CS Norse hawks and two H & B Forge Shawnee hawks. They are nice and heavy and have 19 in handles. The VTAC is very light and has I think a 13 in handle. That said once I figured out my distance it throws great. I saw a video where they put the VTAC handle on a curb and ran a truck over it. Not a scratch and it bounced back to shape. That's the kind of duribility I need. I have never used or seen the CS version but for the price differance I am sure the extra money spent on the American Tomahawk version is well worth it.
