Cold Steel Voyager Problem

I just purchased and received a CS Voyager through the mail. This is the medium clip point plain blade model with the metal clip. Overall the knife seems to be of good (not great) quality, however, the lock is "extremely" difficult to disengage. I have other lockbacks including an older medium Voyager clip point with a serrated edge and non-metal clip that do not require anywhere near the force to release the lock. Is this typical of the newer style Voyagers? I am seriously considering sending it back, however, whether I request a replacement or a refund depends upon what I hear on this board. Thanks.

Just ask for a replacement. I'm sure whoever sold you this knife has plenty more and he can return the bad one to Cold Steel.

The CS Voyagers are good buys for the money and I think you got a lemon. Anthony's advice is solid.

Actually, every voyager that i've felt is like that. I believe that it's because of the strength of the spring. They do loosen up with time though. They are great bang for the buck. I really like my medium tanto.
