Cold Steel X2 opinion ???

Many of us do not care for much of Cold Steel's advertising.
Most of us consider the Voyager line to be well made.

Great big knife and heck of alot of fun to have! Edge is ground quite thin, but slices like a razor!

That's the one thing I'd like to see CS change. You're right, the thin hollow ground edge does cut very well, but I'd like to have more "beef" behind the edge. I'd like to see them change to a full flat grind like the Vaqueros.

Oh, and watch that blade when closing the knife if you get one, sharp-k! The blades on these babies are big, thick, and heavy. You have to be very mindful of where your fingers are during closing! They do have a half stop of sorts, but the momentum of the blade easily blows right past it. I know this from personal experience. :D

:D Yup, pay attention cause it's a bloody experience! Now I got deep cut marks on my index fingernail cause my X2 'swings' too much and my fungers got in the way.

On another issue, glad you posted the link to the vid. I've always been worried about the lateral/horizontal strength of the X2 since it's got no liners but just Zytel handle. The vid showed the fella bending the X2 to almost 30 deg and this pretty much means it's fine for general use :)
