Hi,

Am I missing something or is there a reason why there is no Cold Steel Thread in the knife manufactures area in the forums?

If you're asking why don't have a forum presence here it's because they have their own forum.
 
also because alot this forum doesnt really like cold steel. i like them, even though their marketing is extreme.
 
As I understand it, a manufacturer actually has to have a presence and a desire to GET on the knife manufacturer's forum. Cold Steel apparently doesn't, I assume cause they have their own forum already.
 
Yes, I believe there needs to be an official representative available to moderate the forum. Some companies have their own forum and choose to focus their energies on that.

I would say that CS has quite a large following on BFC.
More people either like them, or are indifferent, than don't like them.

LT has said in the past that he has little regard for other knife companies, so maybe he just doesn't want to be associated with them in the manufacturers forum.

Has nothing to do with it. They have chosen not to participate. Some companies are present on several forums. For instance, Spyderco has a company forum, plus a forum here. Cold steel could too if they wanted.
 
Seems like every 1-2 weeks at most there is a new thread asking why people don't like Cold Steel. And then a bunch of replies about why they do like them. It's like those asking never read the forums. And it happens over and over.

With that kind of record, why would they need their own forum. ;)
 
The CS forum does not seem (to me) to get strong support from Cold Steel. the members though are very cordial and helpfull, nice folks.
 
I don't think there would be enough people to keep the sub-forum really active. I like Cold Steel's knives, but their marketing gets a little annoying.

I was not asking if anyone likes Cold Steel Knifes?

I was just looking for a discussion area to post in about a Cold Steel Knife and didn't see a place to start or join a thread?

I try and make sure I post in the correct area.

Just post about it here, someone will prolly be able to answer you. Knives aren't only allowed to be discussed in their respective forums, people talk about Spydercos, Emersons, etc here, even though they have their own forums afterall.
 
what the OP is missing, is the 375 other threads on Cold Steel hashed out here in the last year. :eek:
