I'm not the "answer man" on oriental blades, so I'll leave that to others, but my understanding is that the Cold Steel katanas are made by Fred Chen and are pretty good swords. (I'll admit I'd like to own one.)
If you'll search back through this forum for "Cold Steel Katana" you should find two or three previous threads on it. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to ask.
