I know how to search, i figured it would of been erased by now (I just now finally got an account to work, Ive been checking these forums for monthes and in thread here and there there was an offhand mention about CS or the smug look on Lynn thompsons face after each cut)

Some people don't like him because he puts down other knife companies and uses gimicks to sell his knives, not some will tell you that his knives are quite good for the money and I like them too...but most companies say how good their knives are without mentioning other companies is a negative fashion like he is known for doing...

By the way I own cold steel knives and I like them all, but their not everyones cup of tea...I own and use a cold steel ti-lite as from what I hear their arc angel balisong is up their in quality as well, Im sure there are a good amount of poeple here who own voyagers too...I think its just his personality that bugs people...

gotta agree with cutlerylover, I'm not quite sure on their knives, and their sales videos are prety extreme, but they make very good tomahawks, the riflemans hawk has been on my belt for a few years now. And it has held up fine.

I personally am trying to get an OSS- theyve run out(demand is high) wont get em out till november

Just got the stainless OSS, what a great knife!! Super sharp and great in the hand, did the hanging rope cut with it and impressed my friends at archery. Very pleased with it.

I've had good success with the CS knives. Most of the ones I have had have been pretty much flawless users. Most everyone I know that has written off Cold Steel have done so because of the people running it. Some flatly refuse to pay a royalty payment to someone they simply don't care for. The knives are quite good though. I don't think anyone has given much in the way of negative comments on the knives. Just the people behind the manufacturing or retailing of them because of shabby business practices.

Cold Steel is not the only one though. Some don't buy from BenchMade because of similar opinions about the owner.

I love my Voyagers and my old TwistMasters. I don't pay attention to the antics of the owner, although if he were anti-gun rights (which he is not to my knowledge), I might be more inclined to avoid his brand.

I buy Cold Steel knives just to show support for the shy and retiring owner of the company. His self-deprecating modesty should stand as a model for all.

Ackshully, I've only bought one but I did give it to my grandson.

Oh come on now. There is NO way to even put Les and Lynn in the same paragraph, much less the same sentence, unless you're alphabetizing.

For one thing, Benchmade is primarily a MANUFACTURER.

Cold Steel is primarily an IMPORTER.

Are you suggesting I not buy Spyderco knives that Spyderco does not manufacture for itself, or that I should not buy Camillus knives that they manufactured with the Cold Steel logo on them?

Let's do it this way: you buy what you want to buy and I'll buy what I want. Justifications, excuses, drama ...
