OK so here it is ...I'm thinking of ordering the c/s 18" sax . Do you have any experience with one good bad or indifferent let me hear it. Thanks

I payed around 15 bucks for my 18'' Latin...It works fairly well around the yard....I dunno that I would baton much with it, or try to cut down trees, but it works on limbs and weeds/vines.
The edge retention on mine is decent, but I have managed to bend the blade slightly. Lays maybe 1/8'' to the right, at the tip, from center.

iv cut some pretty thick stuff with my c/s kukri and its held up pretty good but my son has laid claim to it lol20120412_142633-1.jpg

Yeah..the ColdSteel machetes are a good deal for the money ! I had the CS Khuk machete & it was a cutting mahine ! Condor Tool & Knife also make great machetes for the money !

I won't say you can't buy a better machete, but I can say I am very satisfied with the CS Sax style machetes I have bought. Real work horses, that stay sharp, chop well, and stand up to abuse well.
I carry two, a 12 in and an 18 inch, in my old 4Runner at all times.

Never considered myself a Cold Steel fan until I took their Barong Machete to Peru last year and it kicked ass.

I couldn't pry it out of the hands of Jeff Randall.

I have both cs machete khukri's , bowie, spearpoint and the 12"barong(bought 2 marked down).
The barong is the most functional IMOP, wish I had the 18" as well.
Good cheap beaters for sure.
I bet mine will take years to get the same usage yours had in one trip to peru BEAR!!!!
