I need this very much and am very happy to see the reg G-10 version back! I have the pretty S35VN Espada XL, and the biggest reason I don't carry it twice as much, is because of how pretty it is. Also, the satin blade on the S35VN? Fingerprint MAGNET. It's crazy how I'll be tripping over this blade being so pretty and shined, I have some abraisive pads and microfiber cloths to rub the thing after I use two fingers to touch the blade and close it once it is open. Also, after doing personal testing. sweatpants, stout, stretchy sweatpants, are the easiest thing to carry and deploy the Espada XL in.
This is pure baby-ing on my part, though. The knife looks beautiful and amazing with my prints or without. I just also really like the knife, so, doubles on things I love. I feel like the G-10 can be more of a user than the pretty one. I also would not be as crushed if an overzealous cop were to try to jack me for my knife. I live in CA and there is no limit on folding knives that are not autos or balis. No fixed blades at all, whatsoever. I still would not put it above a cop to jack me for my knife citing some "palm" ordinance, because I am younger looking and do have long hair. However, I am a family person now, as opposed to when I was 18, which may color my experiences. I never got into trouble, really, because I was not looking for any, but I did not care about staying sober and prudent when I was 18, as opposed to seven years later.
It also does not have a handle that shines like the butt of a revolver if you don't have your shirt over your pocket, which is less alarming to regular folks. I mean to cause no panic. If I don't carry my Espada, the nighttime safety pack is a Voyager XL + Matriarch 2. Lost two cats to coyotes in my area.
