I took a new fixed blade out with me a couple weeks ago. I was going out to take down a tree stand and figured I would test the new blade on some dead falls. I am fairly new to chooping and processing wood with a knife especially in freezing conditions...anyways I was surprised at how much more difficult it was, I felt as though it would have taken me twice as many chops to do the same job that I did in warmer conditions. What have you folks found, how much more difficult do you find it?

On the other hand splitting frozen wood with a splitting maul is a lot easier than when it is 'warm'....maybe the same principle would make batoning a better option....uh oh here goes the batoning vs chopping debate....sorry :)
