They are very different knives.

If your looking for a weapon or heavy chopping tool for serious work with a high weight limit: The khukri is the way to go

For a more easily carried, lighter weight tool for more medium chopping and splitting, while being a bit more weight conscious: Take the Junglas

Currently, I own both and use the Khuk for my forestry work. It sees a lot of hard use; anything from digging/cutting out roots when trenching to cutting up small saplings and branches to hacking through thick brush. I have made several guys reconsider there tool choices out of jealousy.

The Junglas see's more bushcraft work; chopping splitting wood and clearing brush. Makes a great tool for fire/shelter craft. If I could have one tool this would be it.

So as a one tool to do it all I would reccomend Junglas. As a heavy chopping tool that would have a smaller companion blade I would recommend the CS

I love both, but sold the Junglas as I prefer a khuk. They are actually the same length and weight. Theyre very similar in many ways. While the CS has a much thicker spine, it's FFG. The junglas is saber ground. Both perform well on light and heavy tasks, including brush clearing. Both also come with best in class sheaths. As well, the steel and HT on both is superb. Honestly, for me it came down to shape alone. Good luck.

I can the the Khukri shape and it's advantages but it takes some getting used to, you have to learn how to chop efficiently with it but when you do get a hang of it... Let's just say there is a lot of power in that design. On the other hand the junglas is "Snappier" it provides faster strikes with less fatigue (IMHO) and for me provides more accurate strikes. Also, battoning with the khukri shape can be rather awkward but the simple strait blade of the junglas is very easy to use in both aspects.

Also one thing to consider: The Junglas is shorter and straighter making it easier to carry in a pack or on a belt (also easier draw from the belt then the curved khukri)

My one suggestion: Go for the Junglas, you mentioned wanting a more general bushcraft/survival tool, the junglas is a little more suited to that. It's US made from a great company with an unbeatable warranty and fantastic costumer service

Also, don't underestimate the RTAK-II, a lot like a more machete-like Junglas. Also, the Ontario Kukri is pretty kickass, lighter than the Junglas or CS khuk by a couple oz and chops as good as either for half the price

If you have a smaller companion knife go for the kuk. If it will be your only knife in camp the Junglas would suit you best.

I find khuks to be harder to sharpen because of the curve. I prefer a straight blade thus a Junglas is a better tool for me in the woods.

The Gurkha is 1/2" longer, but the Junglas is about an oz. heavier. They're really close, but the Junglas is an overall smaller/thinner package due to shape. It really boils down to shape preference with these two. They are both awesome IMHO. I have used khukuri almost exclusively for big knife needs for so long, the Junglas just didn't quite feel right, though it has great ergos. I kept expecting the edge to contact whatever I was cutting sooner, as a recurved khuk would. Both are about as good as it gets in my book:)

I just traded my kukri for a tops power eagle bolo,i think its a good balance between the kukri and junglas
