I see there arent may posts here on the Coldsteel forum. I really think many are being foolish in not trying out some of Coldsteels knives. They have some of the best bang for the buck knives out there today. Every CS knife I have owned has been 100% flawless. something I cannot say for Spyderco,Benchmade or any other mass production knife maker. Maybe just good luck on my part but I have owned Cold steel knives since I was in my early twenties if not younger . Their blades are SUPER sharp. their locks are strong as any and the TRIAD is simply incredible.

I dont love every design and some of LTs vids are a bit over the top and geared toward Mall Ninjas but he has put alot of time and effort into his designs and also has brought many cool ethnic designs to the knife world mass production.

You are short changing yourself if you never give CS a chance and missiing out on alot of good knives for very good prices. I m currently debating on getting a safekeeper III as I had one many years ago and miss it now. The Recon with Triad I have is strong as a tank and I trust it more than any Spyderco lockback I have owned.

do have to say i dont like the cheap black paint they use on the blades so I always take it off . maybe someday they will delve into DLC

anyway dont be a snob if you can help it and give CS a shot.

I would have to agree with you. I have owned knives from $17 to $450 by various manufacturers. I admired each one for different reasons. I must say that my american lawman is a great value in folding knives. Simple, grippy, and strong as hell. Decent steel although we could do without the coating. Great knife.

I agree. All the CS product I've own so far arrived razor sharp and flawless (centering, no blade plays etc.). I can't say that for other brands I have though, for example two Spydercos from Japan I got have some fit and finish problem (blade not centered, unequal grind and rough finishing in the thumb hole) even though they come at premium prices. The only gripes I have with CS is that they don't offer any of their folders in premium steel anymore, I think most knives hobbyists won't mind paying a reasonable extra for any of current CS folders with upgraded steel. Imagine a folder with Tri-Ad lock in San Mai, 154CM or better steel, it would blow the majority of tactical folders on the market out of the water. And yeah, the 'Tuff-EX' coating that wears out as soon as you cut anything other than printer paper.

some people are just snobs, others are just turned of by designs, others dont like overseas makes. i havnt had a perfect record with any company unless ive only bought one, but cold steel is the brand i bought the most of and had the least amount of problems with. i wish i could get hired to do something for them.
