I recently bought a ColdSteel SafeKeeper III and was worried that each time I slot the knife back into the sheath that the blade cuts the inside of the plastic sheath and will inevitably dull in the process after numerous re-insertions. Can this be avoided?

Havok,
Unfortunalty I don't think so it is one of the big drawbacks
to their sheaths.I also know that they have a tendancy to drag and
draw on the blade marking it.I know someone who,to overcome this,
will occasionally rinse out the sheath with water and dry it to
prevent grit and debris from complicating the process.

Glad 2 hear somebody still carries CS here...Me too. Listen I got 2 of the old push daggers that were made in japan, before the 420 subzero
quench routine. They used to make yhe sheathes outa LEATHER...

I walk on crurches; so a bootblade is pretty much outa the question..kept mine in my back pocket alot or stuck in the front one;easier 2 get at. It was the bigger of the two; Im not sure what they called it then...Intimidator..anyway..

stuck the little bastard in my back pocket one night...and u guessed it...missed the damn sheath....
or no..I hit it at an angle..the knife pierced the sheath, cut through
my wranglers like hot herb-"butt--er" and POW.. rite in my little tushie. not deep though..Thank the knife gods.. I was in a local restauraunt... I want some o' those plastic sheathes for a carry option..my butt still hurts when I think about it...U could have one made or make one outa an old belt or buy the leather.....lotsa luck--Razorblade00
