Coleman Lantern Collection and more

I'm off this week for Spring Break and I was broke so I decided to clean out the garage. I always loved the hiss of the white gas Coleman lanterns burning when I was a kid so a few years ago I saw one at Goodwill for $5.00 an it brought back fond memories of camping with my dad who has since past.

Nothing in my collection cost more that $10.00 at thrift shops such as Goodwill, Salvation Army and others. All of the lantern and stoves work and the boxes behind the lanterns contain lanterns as well but wouldn't fit in the picture. All in all I've collected 22 lanterns.

Don't know what I'm going to do with all of them, but I'm keeping them anyway, no matter what my wife thinks.

wow.. nice collection... my Dad started getting into old Coleman lantern's when i was younger..

Whats your favorite one and why ?

Thanks

The red 200A on the far left is MINT. It has never been fired up and came in the original box with packing instructions. It also had the add-on retaining ring on the bottom that holds an extra set of mantles.

The older one, green top with chrome body was bought new and I have the original box too, its from 1953. That one sits in my office.

I also love Coleman lanterns. I've had mine since the mid 80's and they still work fine. They also come in handy after a hurricane.

Dude that is a awesome collection. I love the sound of those things running. That metal cooler is neat, I have one of new model stainless steel ones that I was given about eight years ago. It's in the back of my truck right now with about 30 lbs of oysters in it. Really great collection you have there!

how do you refurbish ones that need a little love? where to start? i have 5 that dont work optimally.

nice collection. thank you for sharing.

I have a pretty good selection myself. It is amazing what you can pick up for cheap, a little love and it is as good as new. I have one of those metal coolers except mine is red, I use it for my powder magazine. Here is one of my all time favorite pics, my son cutting bait, not white gas but is a coleman. Chris

well its far from being as bad as the 8y/o with a vaccum collection..
Good to see another cooler like my dad has... He's had it well over 20 years!

This is a Great collection.

Just the image alone brings back memories of camping with my family of Coleman fans. :)

love my coleman's
Really want to find one of those 8000btu tent warmers you have on the right. My buddy has one we use for icefishing and spring/fall. We have it going in the bottom of my lund, very nice to defrost your hands for retying.
