I want to know what steel was used in a Coleman Western knife I'm thinking of buying. The knife is the Elk model, model # C103. The box says "Cuts Above Collection". The blade says stainless, but I want to know what kind of stainless. I'll describe the knife: drop point, approx. 4 inch blade, sabre flat-ground, integral finger guard, slab handles of wood, 2 brass rivets in handle, lanyard hole. The sheath is leather with a pouch containing a sharpening stone beside the main pocket for the knife. I'd say the knife is from the late '80's, but I'm not sure. I might buy this knife, depending on what I can find out about it. Thanks.
