I want to know what steel was used in a Coleman Western knife that I'm thinking of buying. The knife is the Elk model, model #C103. The box says "Cuts Above Collection". The blade says stainless. I want to know what kind of stainless. I'll describe the knife: fixed blade, drop-point, approx. 4 inch blade, sabre flat-ground, integral finger guard, full tang, slab handles of brown wood, two brass rivets in the handle, lanyard hole. The sheath is leather. Beside the main pocket for the knife is a smaller pocket with a sharpening stone.
Thanks.

Marty123,
That knife was made of course before CAMILLUS purchased WESTERN, but the best I can tell is that it would be made from 440A. That is the ONLY stainless that I know of that COLEMAN/WESTERN used.

I hope that helps!
