I heard about this one from Sam recently. Sad story, beautiful knife.

I saw this blade at Sam's home and hold it in my hand, it is a superb work of Sam & Adam......... a beautiful work between them of both sides of the pond

That's a real fine looking knife, however with the collaboration of these two makers how could it be anything else?

Great collaboration!
Yesterday Sam gave me a design for a knife he wants me to make for him. I am very ecxited about it.

Great looking knife with a truly beautiful story about its
collaborating makers. Two honorable men with ethics and
principles to learn from!!

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

A compelling story. After reading it I did a search in this forum of of 'Sebastien'.... Oh no! Not 'BF's 'Le Seb'.

Not so. He logged in yesterday. OK.

Berno, was this fine collector a member here? My smiles go out to him for his yearning even till the end.

From every account I have read and heard, Sam is simply larger than life. Talent, soul, character. I keep finding myself mesmerized at his presence:

I can't wait to feel that crushing handshake from his HUGE hands. :D

He's contacted me as well, and we'll have a project to work on at Blade.

Having met and making friends with Adam, I am completely nodding at how he, too, handled this. They are both so giving.

Great story and post. And.... What a KNIFE!

If this knife was not marked, I would recognize it's pedigree. I appreciate the strong ties of emotion that it represents.

I have in my possession the collaboration between myself and Sam that we had at the 2011 Blade Show. Due to a smudge, I have gotten to do some light maintenance and get to know it again. I can clearly see that the 2011 knife and the DeRosier/Lurquin knife are cousins.

Really like the dropped, shaped handle..awesome collaboration, awesome blade !
Congrats !

Thank you Norbert for posting this thread, and thanks to all of you forumites for your interest, compassion and enthusiasm for this story and the knife it produced.
For my part, this has been a bittersweet experience. It is a sad reminder of the brief and passing connections we make in this life, and of the loss of one from our own community. It has also been an experience of pleasure and inspiration to work on this project with Sam. He is an exceptional man whom I feel lucky to call friend. He is also a talented rising star in the knife world, and a shining example of our growing international community.
I hope that this knife will recieve the attention it is due at the auction, and add to the ability of the ABS to continue in their tireless work to bring makers and collectors together and to educate us all.

Adam.

complete package, all this.
