The blade of this knife was forged durring a forging demo I did at least 3 years ago. A fellow Oregon maker and friend, Eric O Bergland had watched me do the demo and after I was finished he said he'd like to do a collaboration and that he'd like to use the blade I just forged. Since it was so long ago I can't remember how long the blade is but I'd guess its around 8" and it was forged from 5160. He had showed me a drawing when I gave him the finished blade and at the time I didn't really care for it but I sure like it now. He sure gave it a different flavor.

Man that's slick! What's the handle material? Great shape, makes me want to pick it up. Nice sheath too. Like I keep saying, sometimes good things take time! :D Thanks for sharing,

The knife is threw tang. I'm not sure if Eric peened the end of the tang or if he threaded it like I do. Here's the rest of the information: the leather is cape buffalo laminated on oxhide, then joined with Spanish edge lacing. The medallion is mammoth ivory, and the tassle ends are giraffe bone. The handle is ebony, leather and fiber spacers, and giraffe bone fore and aft, with copper and bronze pin work.

Eric does Scandinavian style knives which is pretty evident. He had planned to make the sheath out of antler but there was just to much curve to the blade.
