In the land of one hand openers and tactical fixed blades, there are probably about a dozen collaborations out there right now that I can think of. Some look pretty good too, and a select few are made of high end materials.

Collaborations started with I'm guessing Al Mar and Spyderco. Without veering off into the land of one handers, let's find out which makers had collaborations with slipjoint companies.

Tony Bose is the first that comes to mind, with his annuals and regular line with Case. Then we have Dan Burke with his barlows and a few other patterns I don't recollect. Then Joe Pardue with Queen also. I know there have been others. My Case Bose annuals are my favorite production knives, and my Queen Burke barlows are the best examples of the pattern I've seen, definitely on par with my 15 Charlows.

I know there are others out there.

Paragon Knives and George Herron. The hunting knife is "traditional" in my book, the lockback is a gray area.

Schrade had a traditional slipjoint collaboration with Joe Kious. Years ago, before the bankruptcy.

I wonder what was the very first collaboration between a knife manufacturing company and a custom maker? Could it have been the Schrade-Loveless fixed-blade hunting knives?

Jerry Fisk designed a few fixed blades for Camillus. They were stamped OVB ("Our Very Best").

I missed out on these Ron Lake Integral Tail locks from Rock Creek/CASIberia. I hear they're excellent little knives. I believe there was one release earlier then this one too. I'll find one some day. Pic is from a Google Search on the web.

Funny you should ask. I Just got my first traditional collab... this Queen Dan Burke. Got it yesterday along with three of the new 77s and this thing holds its own in every way. It's an awesome little knife.

At 3.5" closed, it's a bit smaller than it looks. Very similar to a case mini trapper in size (i.e., perfect!)
