Well I guess that title is a little bit of a "curve ball" but I just got to thinking this morning about how hard ( if not impossible) it is to find some of the older Spyderco sharpeners. There were definitely a few sharpeners of theirs that they discontinued that in my opinion were great sharpening tools.

One in particular that I like and I still use quite a bit is one of the older "GALLEY V" sharpeners. I particularly like those "cat's eye" shaped stones that are in the kit. The GALLEY V is great for long culinary/kitchen type knives. I am kind of surprised that particular sharpener didn't take off any better.

There is also an old Spyderco ad I found in a knife magazine from way back. It had a Spyderco Japanese Waterstone. That is the only place I've ever even seen one. I bet you all have some older Spyderco sharpening gear you've kept and probably still use. It's funny too because I've never even seen a GALLEY V even on EBAy.

V - You see them sometimes, not much bidding on them though. Usually just the stones (and they don't know who made 'em).

Never seen the waterstones, though.
