Through my recent collecting of bali's i mangaged to acquire two consecutively numbered BM 42 first-pro's. That got me thinking; matching sets/consecutively numbered knives are a great part of a collection both in rarety, and therefor worth. I know Sniperboy is always looking for knives numbered 150, and someone recently mentioned that they had two consecutively numbered 47's coming. (maybe 43's, i cant quite remember) Sinse i have a numbered 43 (number 032) and a 47 (number 017) I was thinking about how nice it would be to have a matching set of the two, and somehow trade one for the matching number-equivelent of the other. So my question is, who else has either matching or consecutively numbered knives in their collections???

Tell you what, I'll trade you my BM42 first prod. #32/500 straight across for your 47.
then you would have two #32's. It's mint in box...:)

Sets and runs are great goals for collectors and really do increase the value of the knives in question.

A set is several different knives with identical numbers. For example, BM43 Bowie Intro #X and BM47 Tanto Intro #X together are worth substantially more than the sum of their individual values.

A run is several identical knives with sequential serial numbers. For example BM43 Bowie Intro #X, #X+1, and #X+2 together are worth substantially more than the sum of their individual values. The longer the run, the more the value add.

I know its your choice masse, but I'd take that offer!

Hem, thats not really what i had in mind...Allthough i appreciate the offer, the 42, number 032, is from a run of 500, much larger than the 100 peice runs of the two new models. Also, the 43 and 47 are both marked with the "...Introduction" stamp, which as a pair is a bit different from one 42 "first-production" run knife, and one all-new tanto introduction peice. Thanks again for the offer, but the person with the BM 47 number 032 has already contacted me about a possible trade. I'll let you know what happens.
