Well, after selling off/giving away my former collection/accumulation, I've managed to finally select some new focus. Maybe knife collecting will be fun again.
For a manufacturer, I'm going to go with Ulster marked knives. For a general pattern (by all makers) to collect, I'll go with Barlows. For a pattern to generally accumulate (because I think they're neat) I'll go with TL-29s.
What Ulster references should I start to gather--publications, etc? I know little about the manufacturer.
Barlow questions: Do the different blade patterns have different names? Does anyone have a list of the Schrade scrimshaw Barlows and years of introduction? Any "must have" Barlow references?
I've been mining the forums here for TL-29 information, and I think I've got a good starting point for that, but as soon as I think that someone is going to make another fantastic post and I'll realize I know nothing . . .
Thanks!
