collection storage

hey guys, some help please,

I'm looking for something to store my collection in. I want it to be attractive, because I'd like to have it out on top of a shelf or something, where I can get at it all the time. I'm drawn towards the Gerstner Collector's chest from AG Russell, (about the right size) but the $400 is a bit steep. Are there alternatives? can I get one cheaper? shoudl I just suck it up, put off the next knife or two and get one?

What do you use?

Do some searches here on the forum about storage. You'll find some good threads filled with good advice.
