Would like to share some photos of some of the different pieces I have collected. Some I use and others are just for show.

wow! that is an amazing collection. in the first pic is that a gb hawk? if so can you give any comments on it?

The big one in the first photo is a Head I picked up at a antique barn. Made the handle, and had a sheath made. It does look the same as the gb French trade axe. It very well may be a head from one. Cant make out the markings on the head.

boy! those VN hawks are especially nice.

i see you have a Marble's Double Bit - we just got one of those from a brother today to re-haft - wish us luck.

beautiful collection.

I was looking at that, too. It seems to be to be a little big to be the GB french hawk, though I could be wrong. I'd surely be happy to know for sure as I want one, but that looks a little bigger than I'd like.

Edited: here's some info on the GB hawk from this website - 6" long head, 3 inch face, and is approximately 2 1/2 lbs including the handle. However, the GB pdf flier about their hawks says the following - 0.52kg haft included, Blade ca 8cm, Haft 50cm. The only thing that doesn't mesh is the listed weight.

judging by the specs of the british prairie hawk i would say the weight is off. i would think the brit. version would weight more:confused: maybe someone has them and could fill us in

here is a bf dealer that looks like they have one in stock even though it says british trade axe.

FSCJedi : checked out dimensions to compare. This ones weight is 2 1/2 lbs incs handle.
The head is 8 1/2" total 6" infront of handle. 3 3/4" cutting edge and 21 1/2" long. It is a little bigger.

....wish I was, brother...!

doh!

....har...!

we'll keep at it until he is satisfied - i think it is going to be kinda cool - i was happy with the head construction, and will definitely have to make one for my own greedy self.

This is a bigger photo of an origional Lagana one of the few with a fiberglass handle. It has the origional heavy leather sheath.
This is the one centered in the last photo above

Dusty One, I'd say you got the hawk bug......... I haven't made any since about the time you got the two from me. Wish I felt like making a few.

Hi Ray,
