Collector or user?

I collect knives but I use all of them, with few exceptions (350 year old tanto etc). I sharpen them all and I carry them. Im the same way with my guns, I even shoot my 98% finish, all matching Luger and my AC42 P38...cant abide something to just look at only...anyone else that way?
 
I use them like the tools that they are! My most expensive knives get used the most. I paid good cash for these things, so they better serve me well!
 
I might be picky with what I buy but I have no problem using everyone of them as well as sharpening them myself I can't just buy a nice tool just to put away out of site
 
Anything I buy I use. I don't see a point in spending money on something that won't be used.
 
I use every firearm, truck, flashlight, etc. I own. But when it comes to knives, I have extra back-ups that stay NIB. Sometimes I trade or sell them, but always have some NIBS:)
 
I have a couple of Italian Stilettos and a Benchmade Auto that are my collector's pieces. That's 3 knives out of 22. The other 19 are part of my EDC rotation.
 
I'm starting to have too many lying around that are BNIB, unused... I think I may have too many knives. :D

It's actually driving me crazy so I should use em or ditch em!
 
I use most of my knives. But ya, I have several limited editions, sprint runs and discontinued knives that I may sell one day in the future. Only way for them to retain their value is to keep em new.
But I do love to fondle them...
 
I use every gun, and most anything I've ever bought execpt knives(oh yeah, and some coins).

I've bought knives since the 70's for collection and use. No way I could use them all. I have started to sell/trade many that I've never used.
Some knives I would have never been able to get if not for some older models I had put back for future trades. Cash doesn't always get you the knife you may want, but a rare older knife often will.

Thanks! I just counted 11 BNIB Benchmades. I almost had a panic attack. (because it wasn't an even number) But when I went to the KW website to order the Limited Ares in satin they were sold out! Not sure what to do? Wait, buy the C/F Onslaught, or another Green/Black Ares.
 
The only knives I don't use are the knives that are illegal to carry here (My Balis, autos, blades over 4", etc)

The rest are all fair game. Although I will say, I won't ever hard use any of my more expensive knives, I have cheap beaters for that.
 
Use them. Unless it's an art knife or has some historical/emotional significance, use it like it was meant to be used. First thing I do after making sure the knife doesn't have a defect is chuck the box in the trash.
 
While some get used more than others, they're all users.
