Hello all

I have been a collector for a while and I am now wanting to move into selling as well, but I am looking to be more of like a tupperware for guys type thing so I can go into homes with multiple people and show the knives to them and them be able to buy right there or me order it. The problem is that to become a dealer for a manufacture I have to have a physical store front. How do I get around this or meet this without a store. I even spoke to someone from cold steel and they told me that they have seen some of there knives on ebay being sold as new for less money than it takes them to build the darn thing. So basically I am looking to buy the knives from the manufacture or a distributor for cheap enough to: 1. Turn a profit 2. Somewhat compete with the internet. Can anyone tell me how to get started or meet the criteria or a way to get them cheap enough to be realitivly competitive with the internet.

i'm not a business person, but i do know that internet retailers rely on volume to make a profit. that's why a knife sold at brick and mortar stores will always cost more. they try to make their profit on each knife. successful net retailers can afford to offer lower prices because they make their profit on each batch of knives.

it's like selling candy to raise money for your basketball team. if you order 100 pieces to sell, and know you can only sell 100, you have to sell them at full price to make profit. if you order 1000 pieces to sell, and know that you can sell 1000, then you can offer a lower price to get more customers.

so basically unless you can sell as many knives as an internet retailer, you can't be competitive in price.

if i'm wrong, someone chime in please:foot:
