Hello...I own a 4 inch hollow handle C.R. knife stamped "Made in South Africa" Is there any value in these early made C.R. products?....F.S.

There does seem to be a moderate premium in the prices for the South African stamped knives, which reflects a level of collector interest. If I am not mistaken, Chris made these knives himself. In like condition, I would estimate that the SA knives go for between 20-40% higher than current production versions, but some of this premium may be attributed to the discontinued status of some models, which in itself adds some collectible value.

JKI, where did you get 20-40% figure? I don't see these around too often, I believe there would be many willing to pay more IMHO-

I have probably seen a dozen or so SA knives for sale in the past couple of years, so my estimate of premium is based upon what I have seen these posted for sale or what they have sold for. I have purchased a few myself. The prices that I have seen have never seemed unreasonable compared to current production. Yes, there is a distinct premium for SA produced knives, but I have never seen one even close to a 100% premium. They all seem to go pretty quickly, so the collector interest is there.
