Well I finally found one. Its taken me forever, but thanks to Marc’s (contender) help I've finally got a Collector's Edition Battle Mistress. Talking with several people it's also been called a Limited Edition and Presentation Edition. Which one is right? lol I'm not 100% sure, but will stick with Collector's Edition after what the Busse Flyer has written. This one is serial #236, and is absolutely gorgeous!

Some of the unique points of interest are the mirror polished edge, diagonal pattern micarta handle, and the very old style Busse blade logo. As with many knives, these pics just don’t do her justice.

I'm in the process of hunting down some authentic Busse items like original dog tags and an arm patch to go with her. As far as I know they were never shipped with the Collector's Edition, but it’s just a set that I would like to have assembled for my collection.

Thought I would share some pics with y'all. Enjoy :)

Holy Cow, that is Beautiful..
Glad you found one, you would have never been happy with your BM collection until you had that beauty.

Nice work. ;):D

BTW, Keep your eyes on Ebay, I haven't found a patch yet, still looking. But I picked up 5 dog tags last month. May want to search completed items, the seller had a bunch.

Where'd the pics go? I looked at them. Posted and came back and they were gone..

Edited to add, pictures are back..All is well :D:D

Pretty plain looking if you ask me!

In other words, I CANNOT SEE THE PICTURES!!! *#$$%%^@$# :(

Hope they are fixed soon. Looking forward to seeing the pictures. If you have some high resolution ones, fit for drooling over as desktop backgrounds, feel free to email them! :D

[The old software settings used to let anyone click edit to see if you could manually follow a link, and just protected the message from changes, but the last I tried, you can no longer do that.]

My post worked!!!

When the software returned me to the thread, the links were there! :D

Great knife and pictures.

It raises a question in my mind though! I thought the collector's edition Busse Battle Mistresses came out early in the run, and this is a straight handle, so how come the scales are put on with tubes???

That reminds me, sometimes hitting refresh will clear up the links.

Don:

Thats a good question :) Over the last year of searching I was expecting to find one that looked very similar to the flyer picture which had smooth micarta handles and solid fasteners. Haven't had a chance to get the exact history behind it yet, but it's good to know that someone else picked up on that as well :) Only thing I could think of on my own was that maybe this edition was completed throughout the lifespan of the SHBM rather than all at the beginning.

I'll let you know what I find out......

Who knows? Maybe only one or two of them were made like that.
Wouldn't that be nice?

Anyways, nice pics. I like that finish.

I love it! Deep congrats on finding it, that must have been a hellish search.

I especially like the handles; that swirl pattern is both cool-looking and looks very retentive. Ahh, its deadly grace is enchanting :D .

About the handle fasteners...hmmmm....I'm not sure. What were the last SH BM's handles held on with? I've got plenty of pics of SH BM's with tube fasteners, and I don't know how old they are.

Thanks guys, she's already taken command of the other Mistresses. For a while there it started to seem like I'd never find one.

Eric asked me if my hunt for Mistresses is over. Absolutely not! I'm really getting into the new custom styles Jerry has been releasing, but there will ALWAYS be room for another Mistress in the harem :D
