We all have heard of the various knife shows but I for one have not heard of a show that features only knives owned by knife collectors.

Would it be fun to have one of these if none exists right now?
The collectors can exhibit their wares and even sell some knives which they don't need anymore.

Custom knife makers are of course invited - only as guests!

For a change, I would like to see the knives owned by some of the greatest knife collectors in this region and elsewhere.

How about that?

It would be great to see, but I doubt you will. It costs a lot to exhibit at a knife show and to get to one. If the show was mostly to exhibit collections with minimal selling, there is no way that these collectors would come close to being able to recoup their costs. There are always collectors at the bigger knife shows showing of their knives. You will sometimes find them at smaller shows as well. These venues are probably the best we are going to have as far as seeing these collections are concerned.

Sometimes certain knife collector clubs put on shows, but most of the exhibitors at these shows are makers.

I have seen a few events put on by the large clubs such as the Case Collectors Club. These are actually big get togethers where a lot of selling takes place. You will see nice knives, but exhibiting is not really the main focus of these events.

I'm getting ready right now for the Arizona Knife Collector's Association show in Mesa. Now they offer display tables for half the price of a "for sale" table. But the problem is that you can't even trade at a display table. Now who can go to a knife show and not even be able to trade a knife? The way it stands right now about half my table will be display only while the other half will be for sale or trade. I've got to sell just to be able to pay for my table. That and to be able to buy or trade for the "must have" knives everyone else will be displaying. But Keith is right, the majority of the tables will be either Makers or dealers.
