Collectors !!

Let the buyer beware (or take care).... This maxim summarizes the rule that a purchaser must examine, judge, and test for himself.

It looks nice. Berkley, is there something that makes you post that way?

I know little so take this with a grain of salt. Looks like a nice old tulwar hilt put on a tourist khuk. Berk? JP? N2S?

I agree with N2 & Berk. No Indian Regiment ever put their badge on the scabbard nor did they ever use such a kukri. The kindest description would be to say MAYBE these were made up for a regimental reunion and then sold on the open market.

There are authentic kukris with talwar grips, but they usually have a "d" guard. There are also kukris with kora grips. That's what you want to find.

A really nice talwar kukri was up on eBay recently, but was pulled off way before the posted finish time/day.

EBAY prohibits the discussion of on going auction items. Members found discussing the items on any internet board may be banned from ebay.

WTF!

Well that explains a lot. Sorry.:(

I can see why they'd do it. Is there a way to inform the Ebay managment of a fraudulent auction while it's happening?

N2S says: EBAY prohibits the discussion of on going auction items. Members found discussing the items on any internet board may be banned from ebay.

Glad I'm not an EBay member. Hard rules to live by when you want to find information on an item. It might interest you, but not know as much as you would like, so you ask around. CAVEAT EMPTOR
LET THE BUYER BEWARE.

Guess, you could wait until the auction is over and than ask about an item , for future reference, to add to your knowledge, for the next time. Always something different.

I can think of hypothetical situations where that prohibition makes sense, but I doubt they'd be presumptuous enough to believe they could prevent us from having this type of discussion here.
