This my Collins 4 1/2 pounder. Got her recently via an on-line auction. Really like the patina on this axe. Not many of these around here so I was very pleased to get one in such good condition. She has not seen much work. I don't have names for all of my axes of course but this one is Kathleen.

I guess I am a KELLY person but to my eye This is what a single bit axe should look like.

I am looking fwd to 'Big O' writing his stuff on 'Collins'

regards...Frank

I like the looks of the shorter handles on these big axes. That's a real workhorse of a blade .

I enjoy your postings of your BBW'S
This one has cheeks out to yar!:)
Kidding aside I am glad someone else names their axes, I was beginning to feel sort of Adams family...Mine are all boys names though.

Thanks for the comments.

Cattledog....Is Tampa Bay in Florida? Interesting your axes have boys names. I have always considered mine to be female.
Lucky we don't live next door to each other...Yours would be cutting their way through the fence and axe breeding may happen.
