Hello ,
Kinda new to the forums here but have been restoring axes for a little while now . I got this Collins axe head gave it the evapo rust treatment and took a light wire brush to it after. As far as I can see it says The Collins Co and Collinsville CT an is just over 2Lbs. Is there a better way to reveal more of the markings and does anyone have info on this .judging by the markings and pattern I believe it’s some what older. Appreciate any info

It looks like the pitting has taken the rest of that stamp. I've heard that LE has a way of etching a firearm which has had the serial numbers ground off to reveal the stamp below the surface. But I don't know how that works.
