Collins Imposter Axe!

So, if you guys ever read my manufacturing thread on Collins - you know that there were many companies and attempts to fake Collins axes. Many different names were used, plays on the imprints, logos, etc.

Well I finally found one.





Hopefully you can see in the pic it says H Collins. This has been referenced as an imposter of Collins. It is very similar to a Collins, and if one wasn't careful I could see a person making a mistake over a quick purchase. Oddly, I don't really see a lack of overall quality, as it seems fine overall. Only thing i can see is that perhaps it is made of softer metal overall, which I will have to dive deeper into to know for sure.

I thought it was interesting, so I would share.

Who knows--it could even be of nearly equal quality and the use of the name was to ride on the coattails of Collins' reputation in lieu of being a relative unknown.
