What exactly is this axe? It says Collins 3 on the head. Handle is broken just before the belly. I'd like to know specifics so I can return it to its original state. Thanks for your time.

Collins was a prominent name of 'made in USA' axes at one time. Current versions are made in Mexico. Like other axes there are/were many different patterns of heads and haft shape and length are dependent on type of head and the weight. Most likely the 3 on yours indicates 3 lb. Pictures are handy when seeking advice, and search feature on here ought to get you lots of information on the Collins brand.
Good luck!

I thought I uploaded it when I originally posted. Here it is.

There are already quite a few miles on that baby judging by the disproportionate wear (and re-sharpening) at the toe. PO (previous owner) knew well enough not to use the poll as a hammer which is a real plus. That suggests to me this is an oldie and therefore a goldie and well worth putting in some time and effort towards rejuvenation. These axes generally feature curved hafts and if you poke around in the House Handle website you'll get a better idea of what sort (length) of handle you want for this. Eye dimensions will also tell you something in this regard since there are cursory standards for American-made axes.
If you're new to all this visit the local hardware store with a tape measure in hand and heft all of the axes on the rack in order to get a feel for comfortable head weight vs haft length.
