When my grandfather was working at Queen in the 70's and 80's, and Adrian Harris (Colonel Coon) was still alive and making knives, he occasionally ordered bits and pieces from Queen. So him and my grandfather became friends. The old Colonel Coon knives were well known for the use of freshwater mussels pearl, which had a pinkish mother-of-pearl look to them. When my grandfather left Queen, Mr. Harris mailed him a gift. A Queen Cutlery fillet knife, rehandled in freshwater pearl, with my grandfather's name etched on the blade, along with Colonel Coon. I wish I had that knife. When grandpa died, that knife wasn't in his knife room, not sure what he did with it in his final few years. Maybe mailed it back to the Harris family relatives.
