I was at a hardware store in a small Missouri town and they had an old display case of Colonial knives. Made in the USA. The knives are cheaply made, but I purchased a Barlow anyhow. Ive never heard of colonial. any of you know anything about them.

I don't know a WHOLE lot about the Colonial brand, but I think they are like Imperial as far as the fit and finish go. They were the cheaper knives back in the day kind of like we have Rough Rider now-a-days.

I think all new production Colonial brand knives are imported, even though the new production knives say "Colonial" and "USA" on the tangs. I think the old production stuff was made here in the U.S. You have to look at the box, or clam pack, whatever the knife comes in. On the new ones (at least the ones I've seen) there is a removable "CHINA" sticker.

thx - cpr
