Can anyone provide me with any information about the history of this knife? Was it used by all navy personel in combat? For what period was it issued? Was a different knife used by the marines?

Colonial is now making and selling this knife again. Is the new version really the same as the original? They claim that it is "manufactured to original WW2 specifciations". What is the going price on an actual WW2 version in reasonable condition?

Hi,

The Mark 1 seem's to have turned into a "catch all" knife during the war years, and after. In good condition a excellent used should run $50-75.

The Colonial version is pretty close to their war time production.

There are many variations of this knife, for more info check with Bernard Levine.

:D:).
